Every Saturday the Midsouth Sentinel will endeavor to enlighten people about the true story about the progressives favorite Dictators. No, they don't refer to them as dictators. They usually giving them lovable descriptors like "freedom fighter", "revolutionary", guerilla leader",etc.
We will start this Saturday with Che Guevera. The pop culture hero of many in Hollywood and uniformed masses across the world.
Many of you already know the true story but some of our friends and family have no clue or believe the mythology surrounding this "freedom fighter". There are some simple things you can do to combat the disinformation about Che Guevera but most important is knowing the truth yourself. If you want to have a discussion with someone who ignorantly looks up to Che, don't spout out off everything you know about him....start with some simple questions....like "I know a lot of people like him but I have a problem respecting people who are racist. Why do you think Che thought white Europeans were superior to those of African descent?" or "I don't know how I can support someone who personally shot people for singing anti-communist songs? Did you know he did that? or "Why do you think he was nicknamed "The Butcher of la Cabana?"...Ask questions, make them think...perhaps it will spur them to try and prove you wrong. They may get schooled in the process. it's certainly worth a try.
Most people are not aware of who Che really was. The want to believe the myth and the picture which has given him sex symbol status. (One of Jane Fonda's biggest regrets was not sleeping with him....birds of a feather...)Let's start with some quotes by Che Guevera ( compliments of The Libertarian Republic)...
10 of the Most Psychotic Quotes from Socialist Hero Che Guevara
#1. “What we affirm is that we must proceed along the path of liberation even if this costs millions of atomic victims.” (Awwww millions dead???That's just collateral damage...)
#2. “To send men to the firing squad, judicial proof is unnecessary … These procedures are an archaic bourgeois detail. This is a revolution!” (Awww, what's not to love about tyranny. Trial by jury? That's for rich people....)
#3. “We must eliminate all newspapers; we cannot make a revolution with free press.” (Awwww yes, state run media...works for Russia and North Korea and besides, free press? How could we deceive the masses with free press, that's why we need "Net Neutrality)
#4. “We executed many people by firing squad without knowing if they were fully guilty. At times, the Revolution cannot stop to conduct much investigation.” (Awwww so sorry we killed your innocent Daddy because hey ...Viva la Revolucion!)
#5. “The black is indolent and a dreamer; spending his meager wage on frivolity or drink; the European has a tradition of work and saving, which has pursued him as far as this corner of America and drives him to advance himself, even independently of his own individual aspirations.” (Awwwww what's not to love about a racist black people hatin murderous bully? Someone might want to ask Jay Z about this one)

Cuban history is as fascinating to me as American History. For those interested in learning more I am starting a reading list for this subject to coincide with today's subject. We will spend a couple of months on Che Guevera before moving on to the next exposé . I love this subject so feel free to leave comments or send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any suggestions/thoughts/ideas.
