Montgomery’s Board of Education voted 7 to 1 Tuesday to eliminate references to all religious holidays on the published calendar for 2015-2016, a decision that followed a request from Muslim community leaders to give equal billing to the Muslim holy day of Eid al-Adha.
In practical terms, Montgomery schools will still be closed for the Christian and Jewish holidays, as in previous years, and students will still get the same days off, as planned.

In order for this to stick, the citizens of Montgomery County must do nothing...if however you would like this to be reversed I have some advice. Show up at the County Commission meetings and speak out, show up at the School Board meetings and speak out, call the Board of Education daily until they reverse this. It's up to the citizens of Montgomery County to stop this from happening and despite what you have been told, we all have power in our local communities...
