“What is the truth?” he asked. “I don’t know anymore – and we have 500 people trying to tell us.” He complained that there are “megaphones coming at the whole world” that can easily distort the public’s perception of recent events.
“If our stories are mixed up,” he reasoned, “we’re not capable for cutting through the noise and getting the truth.”
In general, Costner explained, race is an issue that gets injected into stories far too often, even when it has no legitimate bearing on a particular debate.
